What do you do the day after your played in a big-bucks
tournament and you still haven't gotten all that handball out of your
system?
Why, you throw another doubles tournament, that's
what you do! So the boys from Hollywood got the word out to everyone at
the big show and
the die-hards all got together for a shoot-out on the Historic Courts on
Garfield Street Sunday November 13th. The action started at around 2PM
and some of the country's
best handball players played on the Historic Courts that day- From a
7th-ranked Women's Champ to Top-ranked players- they were on our Courts
hangin' and bangin' and our "regulars" were there bangin'
right along with them. Even the players' girls were out back playing and
Rookie was showing a few guys why he's numero uno these days. The upset
of the day was when a team of our guys beat out a top-ranked New York
team- I knew you could do it, guys! I had set up my sun-shade
device for naught, I thought but finally I was vindicated when a
shower put an early end to the finals and every player ran for the
shelter of their cars. The prize money for the finalists was divvied up
evenly and that was that- but I know all the players there had a great
time. Most came from N.Y.C. and you can imagine they're getting less and
less handball weather up there. Below are
thumbnails of some of the pictures I took that day: Click on a thumbnail
